The text reads: Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and you shall be saved. Faith comes through hearing, and hearing the word of God. All that God requires for salvation is faith alone in Jesus Christ. Man cannot add in anyway to faith in Christ and presume to be saved. Adding anything to faith alone in the work of Christ, is to say that the work of Christ was not sufficient to save. Scripture makes clear, a man is justified by faith alone in Christ alone and not by works of the flesh under the law.
